The Zenith of grinding technology at EMO
A great deal of industry excitement has already surrounded the launch of Holroyd’s new Zenith machine which is destined to be one of the stars of the show. The machine is Holroyd’s first with the capability to use all three grinding technologies, aluminium oxide, "diamond-hard" plated CBN (cubic boron nitride) and vitrified CBN. The Zenith machine will have the capacity to grind some of the largest rotors in the industry at 420 mm and offer the flexibility to use tooling from their existing (…)

A new, radically different concept
With the launch of the MultiSwiss 6x14, Tornos presents the first numerical sliding headstock multi-spindle machine on the market. Based on the "fully integrated" concept and featuring innovative front access, this new machine is designed with three types of customer in mind: Users of numerical multi-spindle turning machines and cam-operated machines, and single-spindle turning machines. MultiSwiss is a revolution, it’s the birth of a new product range that makes the link between (…)

The alternative to classical high precision turning
Esco S.A. will participate at the EMO 2011 and exhibit its Escomatic high precision turning machines working according to the unique concept of rotary tools and coil fed. This technique still allows the company to be leader in the manufacture of parts for large volumes when productivity and price are determining factors. As in the previous edition, the Escomatic booth will be shared with Affolter Technologies S.A. to illustrate the successfully developed collaboration (for 3 years) in the (…)

More automation, precision and performance
During the EMO Schaublin machines will present a new image with new colors of machines and even a new logo. However it is not to hide a lack of innovation, but on the contrary for strengthening its effects. Schaublin is certainly one of the most known brands in the world of machine tool, but not everyone knows that the company is still active at the forefront of technology. At the EMO in Hanover, visitors will be able to discover two new machines as world première as well as the 137 turning (…)

Pemamo technology …but vertical!
For companies active in high precision honing, the technology offered by Pemamo is recognized worldwide. The concept of continuous expansion of the tools, the possibilities for adjustment to the tenth of a micron and very high repeatability of the well known beige and brown machines were however not available for some types of parts non-feasible in horizontal position. Since this year’s EMO, Pemamo offers with the MVRL 160 a new solution of vertical honing that completes its product range. (…)

New high-end bead blasting solution
What are the links between a rough deburring sand blasting operation and the delicate operation of bead blasting precision microtechnology parts? In fact both are often seen in the same way since they use the same method. Surfacing presents a bead blasting machine tailored to technology parts and allows users to go much further than with the conventional sand and bead blasting operations. To learn more we met Mr. Gérald Nicolet, R & D Manager at Surfacing. One of the common problems in (…)

Willemin-Macodel at EMO: robustness and new machines
Parts manufacturers face challenges that seem contradictory; on one hand they must produce shorter and shorter batches. On the other they must manufacture as automatically as possible and at minimum costs. A manufacturer of milling and turning centers pulls out in this complex equation. Meeting at Willemin-Macodel SA with MM Patrick Haegeli, director and Denis Jeannerat, technical director. "We do not only sell products with advanced features, but the whole of a process and our ability to (…)
