Around 1000 visitors attended the Chiron’s open house from May 18 – 21, 2011 and witnessed the first live demonstration of the compact and fast DZ08 twin-spindle five axis machining center. Visitors were also able to discover the moving assembly line.

Twelve steps take place in the assembly process of the 08, 12, 15 and 18 series machines. Every day two completely assembled machines leave the hall. Under the "assembly-flow" process, the machines are assembled in four parallel lines with components installed at the various stages. The machines are moved from station to station where components are assembled at each station and then removed at the end of the line completely assembled.
Compact, fast, energy-efficient: The new DZ08 FA The audience showed a wide interest in the efficient space saving capability of the new Chiron DZ08 FA presented for the first time ever. The DZ08 FA represents the shortest turnaround times and excellent surface quality. Several orders were signed during the open house. The main asset: two spindles in a compact machining center; small footprint; double productivity and over 40 percent in energy savings. The DZ08 FA offers fast processing times with a tool change time of 0.9 s. The economical machining of complex work-pieces in one set-up is possible with a 2-axis swivel rotary table with highly dynamic Chiron-torque drive and five simultaneously controlled axes. For automated processing and increased efficiency, the FA DZ08 with the fully integrated robot cell Flexcell Uno and Flexcell Duo are available.
Chiron is investing ten million Euro in 2011 For the two managing directors Dr. Dirk Prust and Dr. Achim Degner the success of the Open House is also an indicator of the good mood in the industry. With investments of around ten million euros in an additional assembly hall and a new office building Chiron responding in the current year increase in demand. The new production areas also support optimal Changes in production processes
