Yesterday I discussed briefly with Olivier Saenger co-founder of the show and even if he was quite occupied, he took time to speak with me. He didn’t give me exact figures (this will come later), but told me that the show lived its best ever first day in term of attendance and that the second day was even better.
At the end of the day the get-together of the Jura-Région exhibitors took place. This area presents 62 exhibitors (about 10% of the show). At that occasion, the minister in charge of economy, M. Probst, emphasized the "power" of the Jura region in term of microtechnology.
I discussed with a lot of exhibitors and visitors and the general mood is quite positive (even if there is a slowdown in the Swiss economy). People are largely coming to EPHJ – EPMT – SMT.
A few facts
- A machine tool builder told me that it was the best ever first day at EPHJ (yes for them too)!
- Another one told me that he had the visit of a customer coming from Rennes (France) by plane and doing the return trip within the day!
- The queues at the entrance also put the light on the fact there were a lot of people coming (this point will be improved in the future) OK that’s just a few examples... but it is meaningfull.
A few pieces of news I went to a lot of booths and discovered a few novelties for which we will communicate later:
- Dihawag presents a new range of tools tailored to watch industry (Horn, Zecha and more)
- Tornos presents the Micro 8/4 working with a guide bush
- Bula presents a new palletizing system for the Poligo Beta 1 and celebrates its 60th birthday (as well as the Recomatic 50th birthday)
- DC technology presents a brand new system of gauges
- Crevoisier present the C-480 (see yesterday’s post)
... and more.
Many people were not able to speak a long time with me because the day was well busy; a good sign indeed.
