In Baselworld Willemin-Macodel will unveil a world premiere - the new simultaneous 5-axis machining center type 408PA. This machine has been designed to machine parts of watch movements.
The machine will be equipped for the machining on both sides of a watch base plate in one clamping. This method achieves unequalled accuracy compared to machines with partial and distributed machining on multiple points of production.
To reduce costs and… The 408PA machine allows working with raw strips of 200 mm, which is a definite advantage in terms of costs of raw material for the customer, since this system avoids investing in trays traditionally used for the machining of base plates. The 408PA not only significantly reduce production costs, but also increase accuracy. The ingenious design of this machine allows machining of parts in one clamping, including side machining. Double-sided machining is an essential element in search for accuracy and compliance with the demanded tolerances.
…set up time A secondary operation spindle adapted to sensitive components and the ability to turn at 3000 rpm complete the specificities of the 408PA machining centre. This innovative concept in watchmaking guarantees the machining of a complex watch component in a single cycle, decreasing drastically set-up times too.

- With 3 linear motors and 2 torque motors on the rotative axes the 408SLinear Full Direct Drive machine is the latest news of Willemin-Macodel and will also be presented in Baselworld (we will come back on this one later)
- Designed and developed by Willemin-Macodel, loading systems can be perfectly integrated into machining centers. According to the specification, the company can propose a system of simple and economical loading as well as a large-capacity manipulator with 12 rotating trays, providing a range of up to 3 working days.
