High-tech start into a year of important trade fairs

January 2010

On the occasion of the METAV in Dusseldorf, DMG will exhibit 22 machines focussing on chip removal on 1000 m2 of stand space. Emphasis will be placed on specific trade fair topics, such as biomedical engineering and energy efficiency

Shortly after the in-house exhibition at DECKEL MAHO Pfronten GmbH, taking place at the beginning of February, DMG will tackle the next trade fair highlight, the METAV 2010 from February 23 to 27. As a traditional event of the VDW Verein deutscher Werkzeugmaschinenfabriken [Association of German Machine Tool Manufacturers], this Dusseldorf trade fair ranks among the most significant shows in the ’NON EMO years’ and is expected to again attract thousands of professional visitors into the trade fair halls in the metropolis upon the Rhine. The importance of the METAV is also reflected by DMG’s exhibition range. In hall 16, the manufacturer will show 22 high-tech machines from its chip removal range on a total of 1000 square meters. Automation Amongst others, the efficient possibilities of complete machining or the highly productive automation solutions of DMG AUTOMATION GmbH count among the most innovative highlights to be seen on the DMG stand.

Entry level machines Furthermore, the new ECOLINE range will be presented in Dusseldorf in a holistic and impressive manner. DMG will show today’s international benchmark of entry-level turning and milling technology.

The universal lathe CTX 310 will be shown at the show as well as the universal milling machine DMU 50 eco, the vertical machining centre DMC 635 V eco and the horizontal machining centre DMC 55 H eco.

Special topics On the METAV, DMG will again act in close cooperation with VDW as far as the points of emphasis are concerned. This especially applies to the by now traditional special show for young people as well as to the special show "Metal meets Medical", where DMG will produce a holistic process chain for the manufacture of technical biomedical products in cooperation with several partners, for instance, from the precision tools industry or measuring instrumentation engineering.

Another notable trade fair topic in focus will be energy efficiency in machine tool engineering. Here, again, DMG will demonstrate a few advanced features. For instance: energy recovery in the drive train, the use of energy-saving motors or, certainly surprising for many visitors, the high saving potential within the process chain resulting from the consequent use of process simulation with the DMG Virtual Machine.
