GrindTec 2012 –The place to be… more than ever!

September 2011

Next issue will take place in Augsburg from March 14 to 17, 2012 and Just about 280 exhibitors (as per 23.08.2011) have already booked their stands for – already 100 more than at the same time before the last GrindTec in 2010.

However, the Project Manager Joachim Kalsdorf prefers not to permit these sensational increases to lead to exaggerated and euphorical prognoses: “Of course we are expecting a reasonable growth of the GrindTec, considering that the economic framework has improved considerably, but primarily this high rate of bookings is a result of the fact that most of the exhibitors at last GrindTec have made their bookings for the next one sooner than ever before.” On the other hand, this can be interpreted as a clear indication of the importance of GrindTec as the leading European forum for grinding technology.

GrindTec – Leading trade fair for many machine manufacturers Probably there is no leading European company in the field of Grind Technology left, which has not already booked its stand for the GrindTec 2012 trade fair. One thing is very striking, namely that many machine manufacturers have increased the size of their exhibitions stands considerably, in order to be able to present a still more comprehensive selection of exhibits. In addition it appears that the GrindTec is in the process of developing into the sector’s favourite platform for the première presentation of important novelties.

GrindTec international: Switzerland leads the way and China follows Three out of ten of the bookings so far come from foreign companies, and ten per cent of all exhibitors will be coming for the first time, or are represented again after missing out on the last event. Traditionally as in the past, Switzerland once again dominates the list of foreign companies participating, with 44 % of the foreign companies coming from there. In second place we now have China, with 8 participating companies, followed by Italy with 7 companies, however covering a considerably larger area than China. The 4th and 5th positions are taken by Austria and France. The first participations coming from companies in the USA, Israel and Korea underline the increased importance beyond the frontiers of Europe. All these companies have recognized that the GrindTec is the gate to the European market.

Hall-planning – now under way – only a few top positions left available The GrindTec 2012 only begins in seven months; however, the considerably increased requests for space have already lead to shortages in certain halls. The top positions are becoming rare. For this reason Project Manager Joachim Kalsdorf recommends any companies with particular requests concerning the positioning of their stands to send in their supplication forms as soon as possible. “The further we have advanced with the hall-planning, the more difficult it is to comply with demands as to the format and situation of the stand in the hall”.
