Evosys Laser GmbH is expanding its technology portfolio – Attosys Laser GmbH was founded in July 2026. The new subsidiary, based in Erlangen, focuses on innovative laser-based manufacturing processes for demanding applications in micro- and macro-machining.
Attosys’ range of services includes laser welding, laser structuring, laser cutting and laser drilling. A particular focus is on the hermetic joining of glass components and the joining of different materials. This includes glass welding, glass-to-metal welding and glass-to-silicon welding, particularly for applications in medical technology, microsystems technology and the semiconductor industry.
In addition, Attosys offers solutions for the processing of plastics, as well as for the cutting and structuring of glass, metal and ceramics. These processes enable precise cuts with no or minimal heat input, as well as microstructuring with high accuracy. For example, depending on the design of the thermal process, it is possible to create rounded or sharp-edged holes in glass tubes.
Two holes were laser-cut into a glass tube. The edges were rounded off immediately after cutting. Sharp-edged holes are also possible here.
Among other things, ultra-short-pulse lasers are used. The combination of different laser technologies enables the development of bespoke processes for different materials, component geometries and requirements.
“With Attosys Laser GmbH, we are creating an independent platform for laser-based processing methods that opens up new possibilities for challenging material combinations,” explains Frank Brunnecker, Managing Director of Evosys Laser GmbH.
The technological advantages of these processes include hermetic joints, high seam strength and low thermal stress on the components. This makes it possible to reduce thermal stresses and join different materials without the need for additional adhesives.
“As a subsidiary of the Evosys Group, we can draw on more than 20 years’ experience in specialised machine construction, laser technology and materials processing. This expertise enables us to focus specifically on laser glass welding for demanding applications. At the same time, our customers benefit from a comprehensive range of services – from process development and integration right through to automated production machinery. In this way, we combine specialist expertise with holistic and customer-focused manufacturing solutions,” explains Wolfgang Burgmayr, Managing Director of Attosys Laser GmbH.
With an extensive network of universities, technical colleges and laser centres, Attosys lays the foundations for the continuous further development of its processes. Further information on the technologies, products and applications can be found at
