Rimann SA is well known for evacuation, treatment and valorization of chips and waste oils, in watchmaking, medical and Microtechnology. Providing tailor-made solutions to its customers, the company offers today a new skill with the development, manufacture and supply of custom washing or treatment baskets. Meeting with Mr. Stefan Eichler, Director of the company.
Rimann AG has a large stock of completed standard baskets and raw material to produce on demand.
This new activity by Rimann SA is a little different from all the others because for the first time, the company cares about the parts produced by its customers and not only about chips. Mr. Eichler says: "A company that generates chips also produces parts and these must be washed. In the watchmaking field for instance sizes and geometries are very varied and require specific treatments or washing baskets. In our activities of treatment and valorization of chips, we always provide tailor-made solutions, the approach is then the same, we must understand the needs of our customers and adapt our response".
Takeover and know-how To enter in this new activity, Rimann SA bought the UMC brand as well as the know-how of the company. Mr. Eichler says: "My customers didn’t have any supplier anymore to listen to them and propose customized baskets. I had the opportunity to take over UMC’s activities, which is well known on the market. Therefore I bought the remaining stock and machinery and hired two former specialized technical collaborators of UMC ". The know-how had been preserved.
Strong after-sales service All the drawings of UMC are also properties of Rimann SA and the first activity on which customers can count is after-sales service. Mesh replacement or repair on all types of UMC baskets is guaranteed. Mr. Eichler says: "We wanted to ensure quality before communicating about this take-over. Today we are fully operational, and our new workshop is fully installed. We have already repaired and produced many different models".
